Signature Interior Demolition prides itself on maintaining the highest standards of Green construction practices and partner with other New York and New Jersey companies who do the same and follow LEED requirements for eco-friendly buildings. It is our goal to look to the future and do our best to provide a safer world through safer construction practices. As a member of the U.S. Green Building Council, we are setting an example for other construction based companies by recycling our waste products and reusing them again in the manufacturing industry.
What is LEED?
LEED stands for Leader in Energy and Environmental Design and was begun by the U.S. Green Building Council in 1998. In turn, the Green Building Rating System was established by LEED to provide a set of standards for environmentally sustainable construction. LEED was created to define “green building” by establishing a common standard of measurement, promote integrated, whole-building design practices, reconize environmental leadership in the building industry, stimulate green competition, raise consumer awareness of green practices, and transform the building market. Their rating system addresses 6 major areas: sustainable sites, water efficiency, energy and atmosphere, materials and resources, indoor environmental quality, and innovation and design process. Ratings range from Certified to Silver to Gold, and include the highest level, Platinum.
